Privacy Policy
The short version
- We collect only what the game needs to work: a player ID, your player name, your game progress, and what you've bought.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking across other apps or websites.
- We never sell your data.
- Email us and we'll delete your data.
This policy explains how Matthew Sparks ("we", "us"), the developer of Egyptian Cat Slap (the "Game"), handles information when you play. If you have questions, email mattasparks27@gmail.com.
What we collect
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Player ID. A random ID created when you first open the Game. If you're signed in to Apple Game Center, it's linked to your Game Center player ID so your progress follows you between devices. | To give you an account, save your progress, and run online play. |
| Player name. The name you choose, or your Game Center name. | Shown to other players in online matches, rankings and friend lists. |
| Game progress. Coins, level, rank and rating, unlocked and equipped cats, goals and streaks. | Saved to our game servers so you don't lose it. |
| Friends. Players you add as friends and invite. | To show your friends list and send game invites. |
| Purchase records. Which in-app items you bought and the store's transaction ID. | To deliver what you bought and restore it on a new device. Apple handles payment. We never see your card or billing details. |
| Connection data. Your IP address and basic device information, while you're connected. | Needed to connect you to online matches and our servers. We don't use it to identify or track you. |
What we don't collect
- Your real name, email, phone number or address (unless you email us).
- Your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- Advertising identifiers. The Game shows no ads and doesn't track you.
The Game has no text or voice chat. Players can only send preset emotes.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that run the Game:
- Unity Technologies hosts our game services: sign-in, cloud saves, friends, online matches and game settings. Unity processes this data on our behalf. See Unity's privacy policy.
- Apple provides Game Center and processes App Store purchases under Apple's privacy policy.
- Other players see your player name, cat, rank and rating when you play online or are on their friends list.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our players or the Game.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the Game may schedule reminders on your device, such as when a daily reward is ready. They're created on your device. You can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and progress for as long as you play. If an account is inactive for 24 months, we may delete it. Purchase records may be kept longer where the law requires it.
Deleting your data
Email mattasparks27@gmail.com with your player name and ask us to delete your data. We'll delete your account, progress and friends list within 30 days and confirm when it's done. Deleting your data removes coins and items, but anything you bought from the App Store can be restored by tapping Restore Purchases on a new account.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, the same way.
Children
The Game is made for a general audience. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond what's needed to run the Game, and we don't use it for advertising. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK, or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, and to object to how we use it. Email us to use any of these rights. We don't sell or "share" personal information as California law defines those terms. If you're in the EU or UK, we process your data to provide the Game you asked for (contract) and to keep it secure (legitimate interests). You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with Unity's game services. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there's little to expose.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we'll tell you in the Game.
